Description
An easy, festive 4-ingredient holiday dessert that comes together in 30 minutes. These soft, chewy sugar cookie bars are perfect for potlucks and require minimal effort for maximum flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15-16 oz / 425-450g) sugar cookie mix
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- ½ cup (50g) holiday sprinkles
- ¼ cup (40g) white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sugar cookie mix, softened butter, eggs, and milk.
- Mix with a fork or spatula until a soft, scoopable dough forms. If too dry, add another tablespoon of milk; if too wet, add a tablespoon of cookie mix.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan. Press it into an even layer using your hands or the bottom of a measuring cup.
- Sprinkle holiday sprinkles and optional white chocolate chips evenly over the top. Press them gently into the dough so they adhere.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set but still soft.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set completely.
- Use the parchment overhang to lift the slab out of the pan. Cut into 12-16 squares or rectangles.
Notes
Softened butter is crucial; do not use melted butter as it makes the bars greasy. Ensure the bars cool completely before cutting to prevent crumbling. For gluten-free, use a gluten-free sugar cookie mix. For dairy-free, use a dairy-free butter substitute.
