Description
A rich, creamy, and thick vegan chocolate peanut butter protein shake made with frozen banana. It tastes like a dessert milkshake but provides sustained energy and keeps you full for hours.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium ripe banana (frozen)
- 1 cup (240ml) plant-based milk (oat milk recommended)
- 2 tablespoons (32g) natural creamy peanut butter
- 1–2 tablespoons (10-20g) raw cacao powder
- 1 scoop (~25-30g) chocolate-flavored vegan protein powder
- 4–6 ice cubes (optional, if banana is not frozen)
- 1 pitted Medjool date or 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions
- Peel the banana, break it into chunks, and freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Pour the plant-based milk into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add the vegan protein powder, raw cacao powder, and peanut butter to the blender.
- Add the frozen banana chunks. If using fresh banana, add ice cubes now.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 30-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust consistency by adding more milk (if too thick) or ice/banana (if too thin). Add sweetener if needed.
- Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
Notes
For the best texture, freeze the banana chunks ahead of time. Always add liquids to the blender first to prevent sticking. If your peanut butter is stiff, soften it slightly in the microwave before blending. This shake is best consumed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
