Description
A quick, 5-minute keto-friendly iced latte made with ceremonial grade matcha, unsweetened almond milk, and vanilla extract. It provides steady energy without the sugar crash.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water (approx. 175°F / 80°C)
- 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened vanilla extract
- 1–2 teaspoons granulated erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream or coconut cream (optional)
Instructions
- Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
- Add the hot water, sweetener, and vanilla extract to the matcha.
- Whisk vigorously in a ‘W’ or ‘M’ motion using a bamboo whisk until a fine, frothy foam forms and no dry powder remains.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Froth the cold almond milk until light and airy.
- Pour the frothed almond milk over the ice.
- Slowly pour the matcha paste over the milk to create a layered effect.
- Stir gently before drinking to combine flavors.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Use ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor; culinary grade is too bitter for drinking straight. Do not use boiling water as it burns the matcha and makes it bitter. Store matcha in the fridge or freezer to prevent oxidation. For a richer drink, add heavy cream or coconut cream.
