Description
A family-friendly salmon recipe with a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze that is easy enough for kids to help prepare, resulting in a healthy and delicious weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 1.5 lbs / 680g)
- 1/3 cup (115g) raw honey
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 stalks green onions (sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and butter.
- Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened. Remove from heat if it gets too dark.
- Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush half of the glaze onto the salmon fillets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
- Remove from oven and brush the remaining glaze over the hot fish.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
Notes
Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Do not over-stir the glaze to prevent burning the garlic. If the sauce is too thin, simmer longer; if too thick, add a teaspoon of water. Salmon should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
