Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds (900g) fresh pork belly
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) neutral oil (avocado or grapeseed)
- 1 teaspoon (5g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5g) onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (5g) smoked paprika
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ cup (120ml) sweet chili sauce
- Optional: Toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the pork belly dry with paper towels to remove moisture, then cut into 1-inch uniform cubes.
- Place pork cubes in a mixing bowl, drizzle with neutral oil, and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until lightly coated.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange pork cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While pork cooks, warm the sweet chili sauce in a small saucepan or microwave for 30 seconds until fluid.
- Transfer cooked pork to a large bowl, pour warm sauce over, and toss quickly to coat.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
Do not skip preheating the air fryer for maximum crispiness. Ensure pork is patted very dry before cooking to prevent steaming. Cook in a single layer to avoid overcrowding. Save the rendered fat drippings for frying eggs or roasting potatoes later.
